Sepulka v0.7b

Posted on 03:16 by Unknown

Homebrew developer dev C4TurD4Yjust give us an update of his handy lil' app, Sepulka, a selective plugin loader for your homebrewed PSP.

 Developers Note:
So what's Sepulka exactly? Well, to quote the dev, "it's able to load plugin only for specified game, no more f*cking with Recovery Menu to enable cheat device for GTA, no more manually enabling m33_620 plugin only for InviZimals and no more wasting time. If Sepulka is properly configured, you won't need launch RM or even VSH Menu for a long time. Why did i mention VSH Menu? Because Sepulka can also automatically change ISO Driver and CPU speed."

Current features of the plugin:

    * Loading plugins only for specified games.
    * To describe games u can use id, name (great for noobs) and path (even incomplete! but only one per line).
    * Macrofire is supported (no 0x8003021 errors).
    * Boot screen displaying status (if no plugins were loaded - it won't appear).
    * Automatically changing ISO driver.
    * Automatically changing CPU speed.
    * You are able to define custom macros (u can use acronyms for games, ie. u can write "GTA:CW" instead of "Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars".
    * Last played game (backup or homebrew) is automatically moved at the first place in the XMB.
    * You can disable bootscreen, logging to file and autosort feautures.
    * You can place Sepulka on internal memory of PSPgo (ef0:).

Changelog:

    * New features:
o settings can be saved in "presets"
o multiple instances of PSPdisp can be started to connect more than one PSP in WLAN mode
          o support for Wake-On-Lan

          o various other fixes

System Requirements:

PSP
You need a Custom Firmware, Homebrew Enabler or Half Byte Loader to run PSPdisp. It should be compatible with any version from at least 3.40 OE on. If you are looking for a Custom Firmware to convert your PSP to, you might want either 5.50 GEN D3 or 5.00 M33-6. If your PSP 2000/3000 got 5.03 official firmware, get ChickHEN. For firmware 6.20 or lower you can use TN HEN 6.20.

HEN 6.35 PRO note:
Due to a bug in the HEN it is necessary to remove or rename the file "kernel.prx" in the PSPdisp folder. Otherwise you won't be able to navigate the menu.

Half Byte Loader note:
PSPdisp is not compatible with Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee, Everybody's Golf or Minna No Golf due to lack of network support.

PC
In general the installer must be run with administrator privileges. The necessary drivers cannot be installed as a standard user.
Your CPU should be at least a Pentium 4 or Athlon 64 class processor. A multicore processor is recommended.

PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-A

Posted on 16:47 by Unknown
Liquidzigong has released a new custom firmware for PSP 6.35 — PSP Custom Firmware 6.35 PRO-A. This slightly different  from neur0n’s as it is compatible with more PSP models, including the PSPgo. The PSP-3000 isn’t mentioned in readme.txt so who knows?

6.35 PRO-A Features (readme.txt translated via Google)
  • Support all types of PSP, which PSP-1000, PSP-2000, PSP-GO is strictly tested
  • Support the unlock 52MB of memory, has reached the level of the times 5xx
  • The NP9660 has a built-in and March33 ISO driver to support more games
  • XMB ISO has indicated support for ISO & CSO
  • Has nodrm engine, support for direct reading of the DLC and the decrypted EDATA / PGD file
  • With VSH MENU, you can view or change system settings, etc.
  • Redesigned NID Resolver, support more home-made software, including CMFr21c
  • Has a variety of patches, such as brightness and video resolution four other patches
  • Support version.txt, put it in ms0: / seplugins / version.txt to take effect
Installation
  • FW < 6.35 users: upgrade to 6.35 using Sony’s official update (PSP-X000 | PSPgo)
  • FW = 6.36 users: use 6.36 PRO + version.txt to downgrade to 6.35 (someone care to shed some light on this?)
  • Use 6.35 PRO (HEN) to load the “6.35PRO-A Updater” — press the X button to start the installation.
  • You can revert back to OFW 6.35 by running “635PRO-A Fast Recovery.”
Note: 6.35 PRO-A downgrade to 6.20 is not supported, if necessary, downgrade using Davee’s 6.35 Downgrader.
Future Plans for 6.35 PRO-B
  • PS1 games will support the self-made
  • Will support Recovery Menu
I have yet to test 6.35 PRO-A, but Liquidzigong is well known for his work, so I trust it’s fine. I will be testing it when I get home — I’ll let you know then.

Update: I included some homebrew in the installer, Enjoy!

SNES9x Euphoria R5 Beta 3

Posted on 03:18 by Unknown
Zack is back with another update to his SNES emulator. Just check out the list below, there is a huge amount of fixes and speed increases in this latest release.

Bugfixes:
[*] Fixed control/input issue from Beta 2.
[*] Small code optimizations.
[+] Other minor changes.
[+] Rom loading time decreased (ie games boot faster)
[*] Reverted Background back to R4 (ie no neoflash)
[*] Corrected tons of incorrect assumptions I made that affected graphical quality without gaining anything in return.
[+] Improved Math implementation (small speedup)
[+] Tons of code optimization (small speedup)
[*] More stability – Seems to be a lot more stable
[+] Mario All Stars Works Again.
For games that have graphical glitches ingame (when using the FAST renderer) that make them unplayable such as (mario kart) ..
I recommend the following settings :

Render : Fast + Accur.
Frameskip 3
Sound (11025) although having it at 44000 doesn’t seem to affect speed much or at all.

Speed differences in games with R5 Beta 3 compared with R4 (from reports & my own testing) :
Chrono Trigger : Runs at 60fps with frameskip 0
Kirby’s Superstar : Runs at 48>56fps (generally at 50fps) with frameskip 3
Mario RPG : Runs at 60fps with frameskip 0.
Final Fantasy Games seem to run at a constant 60fps with frameskip 1
All Donkey Kong Games : 60fps with frameskip 1>2
Mortal Kombat 1>3 60fps
Secret Of Mana 60fps
Super Metriod 60fps framekip 2 (use Fast + Approx renderer)

ZeroRCO patcher is a plugin for 6.20 TN that allows users to do many different things, such as load your custom modified rco files and custom gameboot's from the memory stick or the PSP GO's internal storage.

The plugin will check to see which files are in ms0:/seplugins/RCO/ and if the file is there and called on, the one from the memory stick will be loaded. If not, it will load the original one from flash.
(Gameboots are loaded from the same directory)

This is made to prevent bricks when using custom resources or a custom gameboot(this does not touch your flash).

    More notes from the dev:

In order to insure that everything works as planned, be sure to use RCO's modified for 6.20, or you might experience some problems
    with some files.

More RCO's will be supported in v0.2, and we will try to make it so that you may load flash files as well.

    Enabling it:

You can enable it like any other plugin.

Make sure to open up ms0:/seplugins/vsh.txt and ms0:/seplugins/game.txt
and type in and save "ms0:/seplugins/zerorco_patcher.prx 1"
(for the PSP GO, change ms0 to ef0)

Be sure to restart your VSH after enabling it(and you don't see any changes)
